He is God’s Son who came down from heaven to earth.
Why did he come?
To solve the problem of sin by dying on a cross on the first Good Friday. He died the death we deserve because of our sin. He died to give us eternal life. Three days later he rose from the dead and is now alive in heaven preparing a home for Christians.
What is sin?
Sin is breaking God’s law given to us in the Ten Commandments. Sin merits eternal death. God offers eternal life.
What is a Christian?
A Christian is someone whose life has been changed by the Lord Jesus Christ. Christ is the Christian’s Saviour and Friend.
How can I become a Christian?
By trusting in Christ alone for the pardon of sin.
What is baptism?
It is the total immersion of a believer in water - a picture of the washing away of sin by Jesus’ blood.
What is the Lord’s Supper?
Also called communion. It is eating bread and drinking wine to remind us of Christ’s body nailed to a cross and to remind us of his blood shed to wash away our sin. We practise ‘strict communion’ - only baptised believers may eat the bread and drink the wine.
